π°πΎ The Stierstadt Heath, covering 3.2 hectares, has existed since the Middle Ages. The inhabitants of that time cleared the area and used the humus to fertilize their fields. This created the barren soil in which heather grows very well.

© File Usage Guidelines This post on megagroundsloth.deπ»πͺ»πΆββοΈπ³π² I've made the most of this year with lots of walks and hikes. Starting tomorrow, I'll hardly have any time for that anymore. But that's only for a little less than a year β afterward, maybe I'll find a way to organize my life a little more freely again, in accordance with my neurodivergence needs.
βοΈππ While I was previously able to organize my work hours very freely, my course now forces me to work at fixed times. This will be a challenge, especially given the sensory overload I have to deal with due to my ADHD. After all, it's in classes with many people, especially younger ones. But I feel ready for it because I've worked hard on myself over the past two decades (diagnosed in 2006). I've made a lot of progress over the past two years, especially with the cross-symptoms (overlap and interaction) associated with emotional trauma, and I think it's showing physically. I wouldn't have developed all this discipline (quitting smoking/daily fitness training/nutrition) otherwise.

© File Usage Guidelines This post on megagroundsloth.deβ¨οΈπΈβ¨οΈ The New England aster (Symphyotrichum novae-angliae)
ππ¨βπΎπ’ The plant is native to central and eastern North America, but it has been introduced to Europe, Central Asia, Hispaniola, New Zealand, and some western parts of North America. It is a popular garden plant, and this one was photographed on a green strip along a roadside.
ππΈπ Its flowering season lasts from August to November. Like sunflowers, zinnias, and ragwort, it belongs to the daisy family. Its flower heads are made up of many tiny flowers surrounded by what look like petals. This design is very useful for insects, because it gives them a stable landing platform and easy access to nectar and pollen, without having to cling tightly or fly around too much.
βοΈπΏπ€ Among Indigenous peoples of North America, the plant was known for medicinal uses.
πβ¨οΈπ₯° It was also used for other purposes: for example, the Iroquois used it as a love medicine.

© File Usage Guidelines This post on megagroundsloth.deπΌπ The large shaggy bee (Panurgus banksianus) is noticeable because of its big mandibles. For this reason, it can easily be mistaken for a leafcutter bee (Megachile). However, the large shaggy bee is completely black, while dark leafcutter bee species have lighter and much more hair. In addition, shaggy bees collect pollen on their legs, while leafcutter bees collect it on their belly. In Germany, there are three species of shaggy bees, and the large shaggy bee is the biggest of them. Their nests are built in sandy soil or loess, often in larger groups, typically on slopes, unpaved paths, in sand and clay pits, or at the edges of forests. They prefer yellow flowers, such as this water ragwort (Jacobaea aquatica), discovered on a wet meadow near the StierstΓ€dter swamp.

© File Usage Guidelines This post on megagroundsloth.deπ»π I'm still waiting for my bumblebee membership application to be accepted. I also love sunflowers, enjoy lazing around while appearing to be busy, and can fly. Maybe I wasn't entirely honest, but by the time they figure that out, I'll have long since become the bumblebee king.

π±πΏπ» I naturally allow things to grow, which others drown in frustration. I enjoy life, filled with curiosity and drive. I get frustrated sometimes, but my moods are just weather phenomena, not the climate.
ππ¦β‘οΈ My life is as colorful as a rainbow, as warm as a summer rain, and as exciting as a thunderstorm.
